Madhya Pradesh League Set to Showcase State’s Cricketing Talent
The inaugural Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) is set to put the spotlight on the cricketing talent of Madhya Pradesh, with stars like Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, and Rajat Patidar ready to take the field.
Organized by the Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA), the MPL will feature five competitive teams – Rewa Jaguars, Jabalpur Lions, Bhopal Leopards, Malwa Panthers, and Gwalior Cheetahs.
The battles will unfold at the newly-built Gwalior International Cricket Stadium in Shankarpur, offering a grand stage for the players to showcase their skills.
Mahanaaryaman Scindia, the vice-president of GDCA and chairman of the MPL’s governing council, is excited about the league’s potential impact on the cricketing culture of Madhya Pradesh.
The MPL is gaining momentum and drawing comparisons to popular T20 leagues like the Tamil Nadu Premier League and KSCA Maharaja T20, indicating a promising future.
As the MPL approaches its inaugural edition in June 2024, the participation of renowned players like Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, and Rajat Patidar adds excitement and emphasizes the league’s platform for emerging talent.
This initiative by the GDCA marks a significant step towards nurturing the cricketing heritage of Madhya Pradesh and offering young cricketers a chance to shine on a larger stage.
