Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Name Change After Marriage to Jake Bongiovi
LOS ANGELES, CA — Millie Bobby Brown, the 21-year-old star of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things,” has officially changed her name following her marriage to Jake Bongiovi. During a promotional event for the show’s upcoming season on December 29, 2025, Brown shared this personal revelation while playing a game with her co-star Noah Schnapp.
Schnapp mistakenly referred to her as Millie Bobby Brown, to which she humorously replied, “Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi now.” Brown joked that she might take on the nickname “Millie Bon Bon,” prompting laughter from Schnapp and the audience.
In a previous interview, Brown disclosed that “Bobby,” her middle name, was a stage name she adopted for fun. “I’ve never told anyone that,” she told Buzzfeed UK, recalling her decision to create a memorable name early in her career.
Rumors about Brown’s relationship with Bongiovi began in 2021 when he posted a selfie of the two, leading to speculation about their romantic status. The couple married in May 2024 during an intimate ceremony and later celebrated with friends and family in a larger wedding held in Italy.
The couple recently embraced parenthood, announcing the adoption of their daughter on August 21, 2025. Brown expressed her dedication to keeping her child’s life private, saying, “It’s our job as parents to protect her from the media spotlight.” She emphasized her intention to allow her daughter to decide if and when she wants to share her story with the public.
Brown reflected on her journey into motherhood, stating, “It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey — she’s taught us so much already. Perspective is huge. The smaller things in life are so much more precious.”
