Montie Quinn Ncaa Record Curry College Football

MILTON, Massachusetts — Montie Quinn, a running back for Curry College, made history on Saturday afternoon by breaking the NCAA Division III single-game rushing record against Nichols College. Quinn rushed for 522 yards on just 20 carries and scored seven touchdowns in the Colonels’ 71-27 victory.

Quinn’s touchdown runs included impressive distances of 64, 30, 76, 84, 58, 2, and 85 yards. His remarkable performance not only broke the previous NCAA single-game rushing record of 427 yards set by Samaje Perine of Oklahoma in 2014 but also established a new Curry College record for most rushing touchdowns in a game.

“I’m just humbled and grateful. Breaking the record is something I never imagined coming into today,” Quinn said. He credited his offensive line and coaches for their support during the game, saying, “This belongs to all of us. I just happened to be the one carrying the ball.”

Curry head coach Todd Parsons praised Quinn’s performance, describing it as “nothing short of amazing.” He added, “Breaking the NCAA rushing record is a monumental achievement.”

With this victory, Curry College improved to a 6-1 record this season, including a perfect 3-0 in conference play. The Colonels will face Western New England next Saturday in Milton.

Quinn, a junior studying sport and recreation management, now has 1,450 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns this season alone. Over his career, he has accumulated 5,885 rushing yards and 53 touchdowns.
