LOS GATOS, Calif. — Netflix is kicking off 2025 with a slate of highly anticipated shows and movies, including the return of fan-favorite series and bold new projects. The streaming giant announced its January lineup, featuring a mix of action-packed thrillers, romantic dramas, and dark Westerns.

Leading the charge is the second season of *The Night Agent*, Netflix’s seventh-most-watched English-language show of all time. FBI agent Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, will embark on an international mission spanning Thailand and New York City. Meanwhile, *American Primeval*, a gritty Western series, promises to deliver a brutal portrayal of the Wild West, with a star-studded cast including Taylor Kitsch, Dane DeHaan, and Jai Courtney.

For fans of romance, *XO, Kitty* returns for its second season, following Kitty Song Covey’s adventures at an international school in Korea. The show, a spin-off of the *To All the Boys* film series, continues to explore themes of love and self-discovery.

Netflix is also diving into horror with the return of *Hereditary* and the release of *Fear Street: Prom Queen*, a new installment in the popular horror franchise based on R.L. Stine‘s books. The film will center on a high school prom election gone horribly wrong.

In the anime realm, *Sirens of the Deep*, a spin-off of *The Witcher* series, will debut in February 2025. The animated film will feature familiar characters like Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer, voiced by Doug Cockle and Anya Chalotra, respectively.

Other highlights include *Back in Action*, an action-comedy starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, and *The Electric State*, a sci-fi adventure starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt. Directed by the Russo brothers, the film is based on Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel and promises a visually stunning journey through a dystopian world.

Netflix’s 2025 lineup also includes *Happy Gilmore 2*, a sequel to Adam Sandler‘s 1996 golf comedy, and *Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery*, the third installment in Rian Johnson‘s hit murder-mystery franchise.

With a diverse mix of genres and star-studded casts, Netflix is poised to dominate the streaming landscape in 2025.
