Oklahoma State, Alabama, and Wisconsin-La Crosse Win 2025 NCAA Cross Country Titles
Columbia, MO — The 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships featured thrilling races across all divisions as teams and individuals vied for national titles on Saturday, November 22.
In the Division I men’s championship, Oklahoma State University took the team title with 57 points, marking their second victory in three years and fifth overall. The Cowboys saw four runners finish in the top 12, securing points and the championship.
Individually, New Mexico‘s Habtom Samuel excelled, finishing first in the men’s race with a time of 28:33.9, just 4.1 seconds ahead of Rocky Hansen of Stanford.
The women’s Division I team champion was North Carolina State, winning their fourth title in five years. N.C. State was powered by strong performances from Hannah Gapes and Grace Hartman, who finished in the top 10. The individual title was claimed by Alabama’s Doris Lemngole, who clocked in at 18:25.4, edging out BYU’s Jane Hedengren by more than 13 seconds.
Wingate University emerged victorious in the DII men’s championship, finishing with 62 points, ahead of second-place Adams State. Adams State’s Kidus Begashaw clinched the individual title with a time of 29:38.8.
In the DII women’s race, Grand Valley State won the team title with 65 points, narrowly beating Colorado School of Mines. Individually, Tristian Spence from Adams State finished first at 20:11.0.
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse captured the DIII men’s title, finishing with 82 points, significantly ahead of SUNY Geneseo. Emmanuel Leblond of Johns Hopkins won the individual title with a time of 23:35.0.
Finally, NYU celebrated their first DIII women’s title in program history, scoring 79 points to outpace Williams. Individually, Middlebury‘s Audrey MacLean secured the win, finishing in 20:16.8, nearly 50 seconds ahead of the competition.
The event was celebrated not just for individual and team achievements but also for showcasing the best in collegiate cross country.
