On Wednesday, a significant incident occurred at the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in Yemassee, South Carolina, when at least 40 primates escaped from the facility, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO).

The escape happened at the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center located on Castle Hall Road in Yemassee. Law enforcement officials, including the Yemassee Police Department, are actively working to locate the escaped animals. Traps have been set up in the area, and thermal imaging cameras are being used to aid in the search.

Residents in the area have been advised to secure their homes by keeping doors and windows closed to prevent the primates from entering. The sheriff’s office has also warned the public not to interact with the escaped animals and to call 911 immediately if they encounter any of them.
