21 Savage Asks Fans if They Want Him to Change Controversial Line in ‘Pop Ur Shit’

Rapper 21 Savage has taken to Instagram to ask his fans a question regarding one of his tracks on his latest album. The song in question, ‘Pop Ur Shit,’ features collaborations with Drake, Meek Mill, and production from Metro Boomin. However, it’s a controversial line in the post-chorus that has caused some discussion among listeners.

In the Instagram post, 21 Savage showcased new merchandise related to another track on the album, ‘Redrum.’ In his caption, he humorously asked his followers if they would like him to change the line that references an unpleasant smell. The specific lyric states, ‘What you smokin’? It smell like gas, I think somebody pooped,’ equating the smell of marijuana to human feces.

‘Pop Ur Shit’ is part of 21 Savage’s first solo album in six years, titled ‘American Dream.’ While this is his individual project, he has worked on collaborative albums with Drake and Metro Boomin, as well as with Meek Mill.

Prior to the release of ‘American Dream,’ 21 Savage released a music video believed to be a teaser for the album. The video features alternate versions of himself, played by Travis Scott and Drake. Other notable artists such as Meek Mill and Metro Boomin also make appearances in the 15-song album.

21 Savage’s journey to success is a central theme in the album, particularly his rise to prominence in the Atlanta music scene after being outed as a British national. The rapper was born in London and later moved to the United States with his mother at the age of seven.
