Retired NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal has issued a cryptic but heartfelt response to the revelations made by his ex-wife, Shaunie Henderson, in her recently released autobiography.

Henderson, who tied the knot with pastor Keion Henderson in 2022, delved into the intricacies of her nearly decade-long union with O’Neal, which concluded in 2011, in her book titled ‘Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms’.

Reflecting on her emotions, Henderson candidly shared, ‘Looking back, I don’t know that I was ever really in love with the man, but I was in love with the idea of being married to the man I had a family with. I was in love with the idea of building a life together. I truly did enjoy spending time with him’.

O’Neal, a prominent figure in the NBA and currently an analyst, took to Instagram to respond, writing, ‘I understand…I wouldn’t have been in love with me either. Wishing you all the best…(heart emoji). All love. Shaq’.

The former couple, who share four children, first met in 1999 and exchanged vows in 2002. Their marital journey faced turbulence, with a divorce filing in 2007 that was later withdrawn before a final split in 2009 due to irreconcilable differences.
