Shane van Gisbergen Triumphs at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Shane van Gisbergen of Trackhouse Racing won the NASCAR Cup race Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, demonstrating both skill and determination throughout the challenging event.
Van Gisbergen, driving a Chevrolet, led the majority of the race but faced fierce competition during the final stage. After a dramatic battle, he pulled ahead and crossed the finish line far in front of the pack, securing his victory.
“It was intense, especially towards the end,” van Gisbergen said after the race. “Everyone was giving it their all, and I had to push hard to maintain my lead.”
Kyle Larson finished in second place, while the remainder of the top ten included notable performances from drivers such as Tyler Reddick and Denny Hamlin. The playoff cut line added further tension as Ross Chastain and Joey Logano vied for crucial points.
Chastain, who fell behind after a late-race spin, attempted a bold move in the final corner but ended up colliding with Hamlin. This incident prevented him from advancing, with Logano snatching the final transfer spot by a narrow margin.
The race began smoothly, with 36 of the 37 cars navigating the first corner without incident. However, some early troubles struck, including an issue for Austin Cindric, who spun out after contact.
As the race progressed, different strategies became evident, with teams opting to split their tactics based on tire wear. Van Gisbergen led Stage 1 and continued to remain a formidable force throughout the event.
Despite challenges, including contact that forced the caution flag, SVG regained control and ultimately sealed his win with 23 laps remaining.
“This victory means a lot to me and the team,” he added. “We worked hard for this, and I’m grateful for the support.”
