Stolen Ambulance Chase California

A man is currently in police custody following a dramatic police pursuit involving a stolen ambulance that spanned across both Los Angeles and Orange counties in California. The incident commenced shortly after 8 p.m. on October 8, when the man reportedly stole an ambulance belonging to the City of Orange, as per the reports from law enforcement officials.

The pursuit was captured on camera by SkyFOX, which followed the suspect as he drove through regions including the Downey-Norwalk area and Anaheim along the busy 91 Freeway. Eventually, the chase came to a conclusion when the suspect voluntarily surrendered and was taken into custody by police officials.

The ambulance was reportedly stolen from the Foothill Regional Medical Center located in Tustin, California. The suspect is accused of taking the vehicle from healthcare personnel associated with the Orange City Fire Department, detailed the California Highway Patrol.

Following the theft, authorities initiated the pursuit near the city of Downey. Throughout the chase, the ambulance’s rear doors remained wide open, and at several points, a side door was observed sliding ajar, intensifying the risk to other road users.

The chase concluded peacefully when the suspect pulled over on the southbound 710 Freeway at East Carson Street. This location is just a short distance north of where the freeway diverges into the 405 Freeway. The individual exited the vehicle and surrendered to law enforcement without any further confrontation.

Matthew Rodriguez, a digital producer with CBS Los Angeles, reported the incident. Rodriguez, who covers breaking news and crime, has previously reported for various local publications including the Argonaut and Pasadena Weekly.
