Hundreds gathered at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre in South Morang, Melbourne, to bid a somber farewell to beloved television presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies. The funeral, filled with heartbroken family and friends, was a poignant tribute to the young couple.

Mourners paid their respects by wearing bright colors, reflecting Baird’s vibrant personality. Baird’s family, including parents Helen and Gary Baird, as well as his sister Kourtnee, were joined by colleagues from Network 10, where Baird had worked on the popular morning show Studio 10.

Helen Baird, in a tearful tribute, expressed her profound love for her son, stating, ‘My heart is broken my darling boy and I love you more than this world. There will never be another you.’ Gary Baird highlighted his son’s unmatched empathy and spirit, reminiscing on the impact Baird had in his short 26 years.

The service featured touching moments with balloons spelling out Baird’s name and cherished photos displayed on stage. Daniel Doody, a Network 10 reporter, delivered a heartfelt eulogy, concluding the service with bubbles blown in remembrance of Baird.

Baird’s upbringing in Diamond Creek, his passion for AFL, and his education at Loyola College in Watsonia were shared memories. His journey from Queensland to Sydney to pursue a career in television presenting highlighted his ambition and dedication.

Tragically, Baird and Davies’ lives were cut short in a heinous act of violence. Police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon stands accused of the murder, with allegations pointing to the use of a police-issued firearm in the crime. Lamarre-Condon, now in custody, faces charges related to the incident at Baird’s home in Paddington.

The discovery of Baird and Davies’ bodies in Bungonia, near Goulburn, shocked the community, leading to Lamarre-Condon’s removal from the force by NSW Police. The upcoming funeral for Davies in Queensland will mark another solemn moment in this heartbreaking saga.
