Union Minister Suresh Gopi Assumes New Roles In Tourism And Petroleum Ministries

Union Minister Suresh Gopi expressed gratitude for the widespread support he received as he assumed new responsibilities in the tourism and petroleum ministries within the Narendra Modi-led government.

Gopi, who recently returned to Kerala after his ministerial appointment, visited the historic Thali Mahadeva temple in Kozhikode to offer prayers and reflect on his journey.

Addressing reporters, the former actor turned politician acknowledged the importance of his connections with the people and revered temples in the state.

He emphasized that the backing from individuals across diverse backgrounds played a crucial role in his political trajectory.

Gopi acknowledged the weight of his new role as the Minister of State for Tourism, stressing the significance of identifying key tourist destinations across India.

While noting that Prime Minister Modi had specifically discussed Kerala with him, Gopi refrained from commenting on current political debates, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan‘s recent statement and M K Raghavan‘s call for an AIIMS facility in Kozhikode.

Regarding Vijayan’s remarks, Gopi chose not to engage in the discourse, highlighting the internal dynamics within the ruling party to address such issues.

On Raghavan’s demand for AIIMS, the minister acknowledged the MP’s right to make the request and expressed his own aspirations and entitlements.

Gopi made history for the BJP by winning the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat in a closely contested election against notable candidates from the Congress and CPI.
