Vanna White Gifts Baby Blanket to Expecting Judge Derek Hough

LOS ANGELES, CA — Vanna White surprised Derek Hough with a handmade gift as he prepares for fatherhood. During a recent appearance on Extra, the host of Wheel of Fortune presented Hough, a judge on Dancing with the Stars, with a yellow crocheted baby blanket.

White, 68, made the heartfelt gesture after taping a segment with Hough that is set to air this Friday. “When you came to the show, I said I would make you a baby blanket, so here you go,” White shared, handing over the gift bag. Hough, 40, appeared taken aback and exclaimed, “Are you kidding me right now? You did not make this.”

“Yes, I did,” White replied, pointing to a tag on the blanket that read, “Crocheted for you by Vanna White.” Tearfully, Hough responded, “I can’t wait to show this to my wife, and I can’t wait to swaddle — I’m gonna get emotional. I can’t wait.”

Hough is expecting his first child with wife Hayley Erbert. The couple announced their pregnancy in July, sharing the news through a joyful video on Instagram. In the clip, they embraced while showing a strip of sonogram photos, captioning it, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️.”

Recently, Hough expressed his excitement for fatherhood on a daytime talk show, revealing that he often forgets about the milestone until he notices Erbert’s baby bump. “I sometimes forget, and then I see her bump, and I’m like, ‘Whoa. I’m gonna be a dad,'” he told host Jennifer Hudson, 44. “I cannot wait. I cannot wait.”

He further described the emotional experience of feeling the baby kick for the first time, saying, “It was that feeling that everybody talks about, where everything became vivid and different. I’m going to experience something I’ve never felt before, and I just can’t wait.”
