Alexander Volkanovski Ufc Matchup

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Alexander Volkanovski hopes to face Conor McGregor in the Octagon one day, as he builds upon his own legacy as the greatest featherweight of all time. Volkanovski reclaimed his title earlier this year at UFC 314, dominating in a vacant title fight. Since then, he has been waiting for his next title challenger.

Recently, Volkanovski announced that he targets a fight against British contender, who made bold claims about exploiting weaknesses in Volkanovski’s game. This fight is now set for December.

Conor McGregor, another featherweight great, has shown interest in returning to the sport. In response to Donald Trump’s announcement that the UFC will host an event at the White House next July, McGregor echoed his desire to compete.

Volkanovski spoke about McGregor’s impact on the sport, stating, “Probably Conor, man… He was in the featherweight division when he was just an absolute superstar.” He believes a fight with McGregor could serve as a significant opportunity for him.

“When we talk about money and all of that… the platform you are on, you need to take advantage of it and that’s one fast track to getting people to notice you,” Volkanovski added.

The Australian further praised McGregor’s fighting skills, acknowledging his timing and setups. “He was a good fighter, he was a great fighter,” Volkanovski said. “A lot of that is gone now… he’s never gonna be the same Conor McGregor.”

As McGregor prepares for his comeback, it is uncertain if he will return to championship caliber. However, a matchup at the White House could settle their long-standing rivalry.
