Western Force To Face Queensland Country In Southern Lions Rugby Festival

The Western Force are gearing up for their final pre-season trial game in the Super W league against Queensland Country at the Southern Lions Rugby Union Football Club festival day. The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 9, will feature a 10’s tournament across various age groups and divisions, showcasing emerging male and female rugby talents.

Hosted at the Success Regional Facility on Hammond Road, the Western Force‘s match against Queensland Country at 4pm will be the highlight of the day, providing a thrilling conclusion to the festivities. The Super W season opener is just around the corner, with the Force set to take on the Melbourne Rebels in a double header at HBF Park on March 15.

During their pre-season preparations, the Force recently secured notable recruits including Pia Tapsell, Harono Te Iringa, Sheree Hume, Natsuki Kashiwagi, Hinata Komaki, and Sara Cline. The team also welcomed talent from the likes of fly-half Renae Nona, along with key players such as Lucy Dinnen, Trilleen Pomare, and Michaela Leonard who will lead the squad into the new season.

Excitement for the upcoming Super W campaign is building, with the Force’s Female High Performance Manager Claudia Bell expressing enthusiasm for the team’s involvement in community rugby.
