The World Wrestling Entertainment‘s (WWE) resurgence of its classic event, Bad Blood, takes the stage once more after a 20-year hiatus, marking a significant return with several pivotal matches that rekindle old feuds and forge new alliances. Set at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, this year’s Bad Blood promises to be a night filled with intense drama and athletic spectacle, streaming live internationally on the WWE Network.

Headlining the event is a highly anticipated Hell in a Cell match featuring CM Punk against Drew McIntyre. This marks the third installment of their ongoing rivalry this year, which began in January at the Royal Rumble. In the ring, physicality peaked as McIntyre and Punk endured grueling exchanges, showcasing their tenacity and skill amidst the steel cage’s confines.

Also drawing significant attention is the tag team bout pitting Cody Rhodes alongside Roman Reigns against the latest formation of The Bloodline. This match is notable not only for its star power but also for its storyline depth, bringing Rhodes back to his hometown of Atlanta and pairing him with his former adversary, Reigns.

The Judgment Day faces off against the Terror Twins in tandem matches, while the WWE Women’s Championship rematch between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley is a draw for fans interested in their longstanding rivalry. Morgan, who once partnered with Ripley, seeks retribution after a series of betrayals and injuries at Ripley’s hand.

The Bad Blood 2024 event features special guest appearances, including record producer Metro Boomin, who not only opened the event with Cody Rhodes but also partnered with WWE to use “GTA,” a track with Future, as its theme song. Metro Boomin was seen alongside WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul "Triple H" Levesque.

To accommodate a busy sports night, Bad Blood began earlier than typical WWE premium events due to UFC 307 taking place later that evening, a consideration highlighted by industry outlet Fightful Select. Both WWE and UFC are subsidiaries of TKO Group Holdings.

The history of Bad Blood dates back to its original iteration in 1997 as “Badd Blood: In Your House,” with its inaugural Hell in a Cell match famously contested by The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. This year’s revival marks the 27th anniversary of the event’s inception.

Guest attendance brings in notable figures such as WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg and his son alongside rapper Killer Mike, adding a touch of celebrity allure to an already high-octane evening.

This historic event will see follow-up drama in WWE’s weekly shows, RAW and SmackDown, with ongoing storylines expected to evolve as WWE prepares for its future roster developments and major shows.
