Zenith Bank Appoints Dr. Adaora Umeoji as First Female Group Managing Director
Zenith Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Dr. Adaora Umeoji as its upcoming Group Managing Director, slated to assume office on June 1, 2024.
The Company Secretary, Michael Otu, released a statement confirming this change, which was filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited earlier today.
Dr. Umeoji will succeed Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure is set to conclude on May 31.
The statement highlighted that Dr. Adaora Umeoji will make history as the first female Group Managing Director in the history of Zenith Bank Plc.
Umeoji joined Zenith Bank in 1998 and has held various positions within the bank, most recently serving as the Deputy Managing Director since 2016.
Dr. Umeoji is an accomplished professional, having pursued advanced management courses at reputable institutions such as Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School.
Her educational background includes degrees in sociology, accounting, and law from prestigious universities like Baze University and the University of Jos as well as postgraduate qualifications from the University of Salford and Apollos University.
She further honed her skills with specialized programs at MIT Sloan School of Management and Wharton Business School.
