América Aims for First Win Against Chorrillo in W Champions Cup

PANAMÁ CITY, Panama — The Club América Femenil team is looking for its first win in the Concacaf W Champions Cup as they face Chorrillo FC on Wednesday, September 3rd, at the Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez.
The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM local time. América enters the game after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Alajuelense in the opening round, where they failed to capitalize on several opportunities.
Despite their recent struggles, including a loss against Pachuca in the Liga MX, América hopes to bounce back and reclaim their position in the competition. “We are ready for tomorrow. We will give our best,” the team tweeted ahead of the match.
Chorrillo FC, making its first appearance in this international tournament, had a tough debut as they were defeated 6-0 by Tuzas in their first match. Now, they seek to turn their fortunes around at home.
América currently sits with one point in Group A and needs a victory to strengthen their chances for advancement to the next round. The top two teams from each group will move on to the semifinals, which will have a final four format.
The team’s coach, Ángel Villacampa, emphasized the importance of this match. “We need to secure the points. Every match counts, especially in a tournament like this,” he stated.”
