Los Angeles, CA — Bryce Dallas Howard, actress and director, spoke with PEOPLE at L.A. Comic Con about her experiences in the Star Wars universe and whether her involvement with Disney leads to special perks.

During the exclusive interview, Howard joked about wishing for an all-access pass to Disneyland. “I wish! I wish,” she said when asked if her work on Star Wars projects granted her such benefits.

At 44, Howard has directed several episodes of the hit series on Disney+, along with episodes of other popular series. While she hasn’t received any theme park privileges, Howard expressed excitement about her creative journey in the Star Wars franchise.

“I love it so, so, so much,” she stated as she reflected on her time behind the camera. “I yearn to stay on this path of being able to be in that world, and grow, and learn and challenge myself.”

Howard emphasized that her work is about more than personal fulfillment. “It’s about the medium. So many people want to do things in Star Wars,” she explained. She also prompted aspiring creators to consider their motivations for wanting to work in such a beloved universe.

She noted her approach to filmmaking, saying, “I’ve let go of wishing or yearning for something that is specific in terms of results. Whatever it is, if I can be of service to Lucasfilm, I will.”

The director praised the indie mentality of working on Star Wars projects, noting that although the budgets are significant, the team seeks to maximize resources efficiently. “You want every dollar to be onscreen,” Howard remarked, highlighting the importance of creativity within constraints.

In a panel discussion, Howard shared insights about directing Ahsoka, teasing the anticipated second season. “Y’all, it’s so good. It’s SO good,” she said enthusiastically. “It is beautiful; it is thrilling; it is adventurous; it is romantic. It’s all the things you want from an epic story.”

The second season of Ahsoka is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026, and Howard considers her role in the production one of her greatest joys.
