Colin Jost Mocks Trump Over Nobel Peace Prize Snub

New York, NY – Colin Jost used his platform on “Weekend Update” this week to humorously comment on President Donald Trump’s reaction to the recent Nobel Peace Prize winner announcement.
During the segment, Jost addressed Trump’s disappointment over not winning the prestigious award. “I know Trump is upset that he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize, but the last guy to send heavily armed men into an American city was Bane from Batman,” Jost quipped.
He continued with a playful jab, saying, “Bane, who was also snubbed for the Peace Prize.” This comment received laughter from the live audience, showcasing Jost’s ability to blend current events with pop culture references.
Throughout his presidency, Trump has frequently expressed his desire for the Nobel committee to recognize him. Many of his supporters reacted angrily when the award went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Carina Machado instead.
“Or, as Fox News reported it, ‘Trump Robbed by Deranged Hispanics,’” Jost added, continuing to poke fun at the media’s portrayal of the award ceremony.
The Nobel Peace Prize was officially awarded to Machado this week, highlighting her efforts for democracy in Venezuela.
