Eagles’ A.J. Brown Trade Rumors Heat Up Amidst Team Struggles

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A.J. Brown‘s future with the Philadelphia Eagles is coming under scrutiny following reports of potential trade discussions ahead of the November deadline.
Brown, a star wide receiver who joined the Eagles in a blockbuster 2022 trade, recently signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension. Despite this, his demeanor has raised eyebrows, with reports of tensions between him and quarterback Jalen Hurts growing.
This fall, Brown expressed his love for playing in Philadelphia, but his complicated emotions have been evident as the Eagles’ passing game falters. After a Week 6 loss, he seemingly contradicted Hurts regarding a supposed positive team meeting.
General manager Howie Roseman has invested heavily in Brown, making it unlikely he would seek to trade the star receiver. However, if the tension continues and Brown’s happiness is in question, the team may reconsider their stance.
Potential trade scenarios are surfacing. One possibility involves the Indianapolis Colts, who might offer a combination of receiver Alec Pierce, linebacker Kwity Paye, and a 2026 third-round pick. The Colts, currently leading the AFC South, could be looking to enhance their offense.
Another option could involve the New England Patriots. They might offer wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson, and a similar pick. Coach Mike Vrabel‘s past ties with Brown might make this deal appealing.
Lastly, the Pittsburgh Steelers may present their own trade proposal despite already adding Brown’s former teammate. A package including tight end Pat Freiermuth and linebacker Alex Highsmith could tempt the Eagles, who are eager to strengthen their lineup.
As the trade deadline nears, only time will tell if Brown remains a crucial part of the Eagles or if a surprising shift will occur.
