Brewers to Start Aaron Ashby in Key NLCS Game Against Dodgers

LOS ÁNGELES, CA — The Milwaukee Brewers announced they will start Aaron Ashby in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This decision came just five hours before the game, surprising fans and analysts alike.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy shared that the pitching plan is still taking shape. “We have José Quintana and Jacob Misiorowski available,” Murphy said. “With the day off, all our relievers should be ready.” José Quintana, who has not pitched since a calf injury on September 14, expressed hope for his role. “I expect to pitch tomorrow,” he stated. “I’ve prepared for whatever the team needs.”
In the first two games of the series, the Brewers utilized 11 pitchers, including Ashby, who performed well in Game 1. The team aims to use Ashby as an “opener,” a strategy that has been gaining traction in Major League Baseball. By doing so, Quintana can enter the game later, allowing him to ease back into competitive play.
The Dodgers will honor former players Steve Sax and Mike Scioscia, who will throw the ceremonial first pitch for Game 3. The national anthem will be performed by Keith Williams Jr. and there will be a concert in the Central Garden Plaza two hours before the game starts.
For Game 4, Reggie Smith and Bill Russell, who have championship experience with the Dodgers, will deliver the first pitch. Halle Bailey will sing the national anthem.
As the playoff series progresses, the Brewers are ready to face the challenge posed by the powerful Dodgers’ lineup. Both teams are experiencing high stakes as every pitch and strategy could determine the outcome.
