LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) – Brazil secured a 2-0 victory over Senegal in a friendly match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, marking their first win against their African opponents.

First-half goals from Estevao and Casemiro sealed the win for the five-time World Cup champions, giving coach Carlo Ancelotti his fourth victory in seven matches at the helm.

The match was intense, featuring rough challenges and near confrontations. Brazil quickly asserted control, with Matheus Cunha hitting the woodwork twice early on.

Brazil’s offense was fluid, showcasing a dynamic four-man front led by Vinicius Jr. Estevao and Rodrygo provided support, while Cunha operated as the attacking midfielder. Ancelotti experimented with Eder Militao, starting him as a right back.

The first breakthrough came in the 28th minute with a deflected pass from Casemiro that perfectly set up Estevao, who scored with a left-footed shot. Brazil doubled their lead in the 35th minute when Rodrygo delivered a precise free kick to an unmarked Casemiro, who scored with a curling shot.

Senegal nearly answered back with chances from Pape Gueye and Ismaila Sarr, but Brazil’s goalkeeper Ederson made crucial saves before halftime.

The second half saw Senegal miss a significant opportunity when Iliman Ndiaye struck the post. Brazil continued to press but failed to extend their lead, despite several chances, including a dangerous play from Vinicius Jr.

This match provided insights into Ancelotti’s plans for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, as Brazil gears up for another friendly against Tunisia next week.
