Big Brother Returns for 2024 with AJ Odudu and Will Best as Hosts
The renowned reality television series, Big Brother, is making a comeback in 2024 with AJ Odudu and Will Best returning as hosts. The show, which initially aired on Channel 4 in 2000, enjoyed a decade-long run before switching to Channel 5 in 2011. After being discontinued in 2018, the reality show made a reappearance last year, reintroduced to British television on ITV.
According to ITV, the latest series will commence with a highly anticipated live launch scheduled for Sunday, October 6th. A new assemblage of contestants will enter the revamped Big Brother house, marking the beginning of what promises to be an intriguing series. “The Big Brother House is ready for some new Housemates,” stated an official announcement on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The forthcoming series will be available for viewing on ITV2 and ITVX, starting with the Big Brother: Live Launch at 9 p.m., followed by Big Brother: Late and Live at 10:50 p.m. The show will continue airing nightly, except on Saturdays, maintaining a slot at 9 p.m.
Distinctive updates to the 2024 series include an entirely redesigned Big Brother house. This refresh encompasses all areas, from communal spaces to private rooms, providing an updated setting for the new series. Notably, even the iconic Diary Room Chair has been revamped in preparation for the incoming contestants.
Co-host Will Best reflected on past experiences with the show in a media interview, expressing how earlier pressures have eased. “With two shows under our belt, we now know what connects with the audience,” Best commented, suggesting that there will be even more enjoyment of the process this time around.
Similarly, AJ Odudu shared her enthusiasm for the new series, stating, “I am going into tonight’s live show with less nerves and more excitement,” highlighting the unpredictability and dynamic nature of the reality competition.
