Brad Keselowski Remains Committed to NASCAR Amid IMSA Aspirations
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brad Keselowski, a prominent NASCAR driver and RFK Racing co-owner, has no plans to step away from full-time Cup Series driving despite his ambitions to own an IMSA Hypercar team.
With a net worth estimated at $45 million, Keselowski expressed his commitment to the Cup Series during an interview ahead of the championship race. He stated, “No, no, I don’t want an off-ramp driving the Cup Series. I love the Cup Series. I’m happy with that. But I do want to be a part of an IMSA team. And that’s class.”
The veteran driver transitioned into team ownership earlier this decade, acquiring a stake that transformed Roush Fenway Racing into RFK Racing. He became a co-owner before the 2022 season and continues to race full-time in the team’s No. 6 Ford.
Keselowski’s interest in an IMSA team comes as Ford announced plans to develop a Hypercar for Le Mans as well as potential events in the United States. He acknowledged that while Ford has confirmed its racing intentions in Europe, there remains uncertainty about its North American plans.
Reflecting on his performance this season, Keselowski noted that while there have been moments of speed, consistency has been an issue. Both he and teammate Ryan Preece in the No. 60 Ford fell short of making the playoffs.
“Ford is building a Hypercar for 2027 that is going to compete at Le Mans and maybe in the United States. And if it competes in the United States, I’d like to own that team,” he said. He also mentioned a lack of expansion in NASCAR’s Xfinity and Truck series in the foreseeable future.
Ford’s commitment to return to the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2027 adds another layer of anticipation for Keselowski’s potential involvement in sports car racing.
