Cincinnati Swimming Teams Sweep Miami in Dominant Display

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams achieved a commanding sweep over Miami (OH) on Friday at the Keating Aquatic Center. The women’s team triumphed with a final score of 199-101, while the men secured a strong victory at 175-125.

Freshman diver made a notable debut, winning the women’s 3-meter dive with an impressive score of 281.55. On the men’s side, sophomore also stood out, finishing first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 383.25.

Meanwhile, junior captured two second-place finishes in both the 1-meter (255.98) and 3-meter (278.18) dives. The Bearcats’ success was further highlighted by seniors Crye and Morgan, who both clinched two event wins for the women’s team. Crye took gold in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.02) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.43), while Morgan won the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.26) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.69).

In the men’s competition, sophomore Hogan excelled with victories in the 50-yard freestyle (20.37) and the 100-yard freestyle (45.65). Junior Bumgardner triumphed in both the 100-yard breaststroke (55.57) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:00.43).

Each relay event ended with Cincinnati in the lead, showcasing their team strength. Hogan, Bumgardner, and their teammates won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:17.36. The women’s team, featuring Schrank, Adler, and Crye, also claimed victory in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 3:44.60.

The 200-yard medley relay followed suit, with Chiles and Hogan leading the team to a time of 1:22.00, while Schrank, Adler, and Crye powered through to finish in 1:34.49.

Looking ahead, the Bearcats are set to face Oakland and Purdue in Rochester, Michigan, from October 31 to November 1.
