2024 Shanghai Masters Semi Finals Djokovic Sinner

The 2024 Shanghai Masters has reached its semi-final stage, with some of the world’s top tennis players vying for the ATP Masters 1000 title. Novak Djokovic, a four-time champion of the tournament, has once again demonstrated his prowess by advancing to the semi-finals. Despite a sluggish start, Djokovic rallied from a set down to defeat #NextGenATP star Jakub Mensik in the quarter-finals, securing a 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-4 win.

Djokovic will face seventh seed Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals. Fritz had a dominant performance against David Goffin, winning 6-3, 6-4. This match is crucial for both players, especially Djokovic, who is on the verge of his 100th tour-level title and is also in the running for a spot in the ATP Finals 2024.

In the other semi-final, world number one Jannik Sinner will take on Tomas Machac. Sinner, who has already secured the number one spot in the world rankings for 2024, swept aside Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals. Machac, at a career-high of number 33, made a significant statement by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in his quarter-final match.

The semi-final matches are scheduled for Saturday, October 12, with Sinner facing Machac first, followed by the highly anticipated match between Fritz and Djokovic. The final will take place on Sunday, October 13, at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena. The matches will be broadcast globally through various channels, including Tennis TV, CCTV for Chinese fans, Tennis Channel in the US, and Sky Sports in the UK.
