Kendall Lamm Philadelphia Eagles Signing

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Eagles have signed veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal, a source confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia on March 23, 2025. Lamm, 32, aims to bolster the Eagles’ offensive line depth following the departure of swing tackle Fred Johnson to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.

Lamm brings an extensive NFL career to Philadelphia, having played in 119 games with 44 starts since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2015. He most recently played for the Miami Dolphins, where he participated in 33 games over three seasons and registered seven starts last year.

During the 2024 season with the Dolphins, Lamm received a 72.7 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, showcasing his strengths as a pass blocker with an impressive 83.1 grade, ranking 10th out of 141 tackles. However, he faced challenges on the ground, earning a 53.7 run-blocking grade, which placed him 109th among his peers. His season was cut short due to a back injury requiring surgery.

“It’s been among the more trying things that I’ve had to deal with,” said Lamm in an Instagram post. “I have a disc in my left side and my back that’s bulging into one of my nerves that’s causing my entire left side to go numb.” Lamm expressed gratitude for the support he received but noted the challenges he faced managing his injury.

With Johnson’s exit, Lamm steps in as a key backup for all-pro tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. The Eagles’ offensive line also recently lost starting right guard Mekhi Becton to the Los Angeles Chargers. Becton had a standout season, starting 15 games while contributing to the Eagles’ Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles also made another move to strengthen their offensive line by trading for guard Kenyon Green, a former first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Green is set to compete with third-year lineman Tyler Steen for the starting right guard position vacated by Becton.

The acquisition of Lamm fits the Eagles’ strategy this offseason, as they have targeted players with prior injuries who are available at minimal contracts but offer significant upside. Lamm’s ability to play both left and right tackle provides the Eagles with essential versatility as they prepare for the upcoming season.

“It’s crucial to have a reliable swing tackle, especially given the injuries we faced last season,” said Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. “Kendall’s experience will add depth and stability to our lineup.”

The Eagles are also equipped with eight picks in next month’s draft, providing them further opportunities to strengthen their roster heading into the next season. As Lamm joins the squad, he aims to reclaim his form while supporting the Eagles’ pursuit of another championship.
