Vikings Texans Ed Ingram Trade News

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings have traded offensive guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans as part of a series of moves aimed at revamping their offensive line. The deal, first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, will see Minnesota receiving a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in exchange for Ingram.

Selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Ingram quickly became a key player for the Vikings, starting all 17 games in his rookie season. However, his role changed midway through the 2024 season, when he was removed from the starting lineup.

Ingram’s overall performance included 41 games played with nine starts, and he participated in 55 percent of the offensive snaps and 20 percent of special teams snaps last year. He contributed significantly during his time as a starting guard, helping the Vikings maintain a competitive offense.

“It’s exciting to get a fresh start in Houston,” Ingram said in a statement following the trade announcement. “The Texans have a solid foundation, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success.”

This trade comes in the wake of the Vikings’ offseason strategy to strengthen their offensive line. The team brought in players like Ryan Kelly and Will Fries earlier in the week, signaling a shift in their approach to the offensive unit.

The Texans, dealing with various changes as well, have also been active in the free agency period. With Ingram’s arrival, they aim to bolster their offensive line following trades that saw both Laremy Tunsil and Kenyon Green depart this week. “Ed is a great addition to our roster,” said Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans. “We see him as a crucial part of our offensive strategy moving forward.”
