Children’s entertainer Ms Rachel, also known as Rachel Accurso, has recently come under fire for her fundraising efforts for children in conflict zones, including Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Accurso, who has a massive following on YouTube and TikTok, disclosed in an emotional video that she has been dealing with online ‘bullying’ following the launch of her fundraiser.

Accurso, an ambassador for the non-profit Save the Children, initiated a fundraising campaign in partnership with Cameo, a platform for personalized messages from celebrities, raising $50,000 for the organization’s emergency fund. The fund aims to assist children affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and other crises worldwide.

In response to the criticism, Accurso took to TikTok to express her deep concern for all children, reiterating that her care extends to Palestinian, Israeli, American, and children from all backgrounds around the globe. She highlighted the importance of ensuring children’s safety and well-being, regardless of their nationality or religion.

Shortly after the fundraiser’s launch, online users accused Accurso of neglecting Israeli children, prompting a heated debate on social media platforms like Instagram. Some commentators urged her to address the plight of Israeli children, particularly those impacted by recent events.

Despite the backlash, many of Accurso’s followers showed unwavering support for her humanitarian efforts. Messages of gratitude and encouragement flooded Accurso’s social media accounts, applauding her for shedding light on the challenges faced by children in conflict zones.

Accurso has previously used her platform to advocate for various causes affecting children, including calling out the absence of paid maternity and paternity leave in the US and criticizing the reduction of funds for early education programs in New York by Mayor Eric Adams. Her commitment to using her influence to raise awareness on pressing issues continues to resonate with her audience.
