Young cricketer Ayush Badoni proved his mettle as an emerging star in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by guiding Lucknow Super Giants to a crucial victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting down the order in T20 cricket is no easy task, but the 24-year-old from Delhi displayed remarkable maturity and skill in a challenging situation.

During the 57th match of the IPL season, Lucknow Super Giants found themselves in trouble at 66 for 4 wickets when Ayush Badoni walked in to bat. Recognizing the need for a rescue act, Badoni joined forces with his vice-captain Nicholas Pooran to carve out a vital 99-run partnership that steered their team to a respectable total.

Despite a cautious start, Badoni soon shifted gears and showcased his aggressive strokeplay, leaving the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers bewildered. He remained unbeaten on 55 off just 30 balls, smashing nine boundaries along the way and showcasing his ability to adapt to match situations.

Having been a part of Lucknow Super Giants since the team’s inception in IPL 2022, Ayush Badoni has rapidly made a name for himself in the tournament. With a total of 40 IPL matches under his belt, Badoni has aggregated 606 runs at an impressive strike rate of 133.48 and notched up four half-centuries along the way.
