House Panel Approves Subpoenas for Les Wexner in Epstein Investigation
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A House Oversight panel approved subpoenas on Wednesday for billionaire Les Wexner and others linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
The subpoenas include Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, co-executors of the Epstein estate. The committee aims to investigate potential government misconduct related to Epstein’s activities. This decision reportedly follows an agreement between Representative Garcia and Representative Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla.
“These subpoenas for the executors of Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, and billionaire benefactor Les Wexner, are an enormous step forward in our investigation to deliver justice for the survivors,” said Garcia. “We are now one step closer to ending this cover-up.”
Daniel Weiner, the attorney representing the Epstein estate, stated in an email that Indyke and Kahn have complied with previous subpoenas and intend to cooperate fully with the committee. He emphasized that they did not socialize with Epstein and reject any claims of their involvement in his misconduct.
Wexner has faced scrutiny due to his longstanding friendship with Epstein. His legal team has expressed the intention to cooperate with government inquiries regarding Epstein. An email from the FBI in 2019 mentioned Wexner in connection with “co-conspirators,” although further details were redacted.
At that time, Wexner’s legal representative claimed the Assistant U.S. Attorney overseeing the Epstein investigation stated that Wexner was neither a co-conspirator nor a target and had provided background information on Epstein without subsequent follow-up.
