Inter Miami Fifa Club World Cup 2025

Inter Miami has been announced as the final participant from Major League Soccer for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to ESPN. The official announcement regarding the team’s involvement is anticipated within the week.

The 2025 iteration of the Club World Cup marks the first time the tournament will host 32 clubs, expanding from its previous seven-team format. This decision reflects FIFA‘s strategy to increase global engagement in the event.

A breakdown of the team allocations reveals FIFA’s global perspective, with 12 spots allocated to European clubs under UEFA, 6 to South American clubs under CONEMBOL, and 4 each to clubs in North America and the Caribbean via Concacaf, Asian clubs via AFC, and African clubs via CAF. Oceania’s OFC has been allotted 1 spot.

Inter Miami’s selection stems from their victory as the 2024 Supporters' Shield winner. This follows Concacaf receiving an extra berth as the United States is hosting the tournament. Prior to this, Inter Miami’s participation was a subject of speculation, given the input shared by MLS Commissioner Don Garber. During the All-Star game in July, Garber clarified that MLS could recommend, but not decide the Concacaf participant for FIFA selection.

The 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled from June 15 to July 13, being staged in various venues across the United States. Prominent stadiums, including MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host the final match. Additional participating stadiums include Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, and several others across major U.S. cities.
