Laura Tobin, a meteorologist on ITV‘s ‘Good Morning Britain,’ recently provided a glimpse into her life on the well-known breakfast show, describing herself as the “biggest diva” among the team. Tobin, aged 42, recounted her daily routine and interactions with colleagues to MailOnline, offering an intriguing view behind the scenes of the popular program.

“Honestly, I probably take the longest to get ready,” Tobin admitted, jokingly adding, “so I am likely the biggest diva.” She elaborated on her desire for sartorial perfection, saying, “Most people will have their outfits hanging up behind the dressing room door by Debbie, the stylist, and they’ll just go, ‘Fine, I’ll wear it.’ Whereas, I’ll say, ‘Debbie, I don’t like that today.'”

Tobin also shared her reflections on her co-host, Kate Garraway, describing her as “like a calamity” but simultaneously praising her professional acumen. “She’s super smart, and she remembers every interview she’s ever done and everyone she’s ever spoken to,” Tobin stated. Commenting on Garraway’s resilience after the death of her husband, Derek Draper, earlier in January, Tobin remarked on the support network within the team: “She just seems to soldier on, and we’re trying to look out for her.”

Derek Draper, a former political lobbyist and Garraway’s husband, passed away at the age of 56 after a prolonged battle with complications from COVID-19. Draper’s illness, which left him suffering from severe organ damage, transitioned him to one of the longest-suffering coronavirus patients in the UK before his passing.

In describing the camaraderie among the ‘Good Morning Britain’ team, Tobin mentioned, “I love them all for different reasons.” She highlighted her relationship with co-hosts, stating that Dr. Amir brings her food from his mother, and she enjoys social outings with Richard Arnold. Additionally, Tobin humorously noted how she and Charlotte Hawkins exchange gags in the studio to maintain a light-hearted environment.

Tobin expressed her interest in participating in reality television, such as ‘Strictly Come Dancing‘ or ‘Dancing On Ice,’ although she noted such opportunities would require significant time commitments. Reflecting on her potential participation, she remarked, “Having a twin brother means I’m super competitive. I’d go in 110% and want to work my hardest.”

Furthermore, Tobin addressed perceptions about her appearance, embracing her natural expressiveness: “I feel I have horrendous lines in my forehead, but if I did [get any work done] you wouldn’t be able to understand if the weather was good or bad.” The meteorologist’s candid admissions provide a window into the off-camera dynamics of one of the UK’s most-watched morning shows.
