One Love Yard Event in Brixton Celebrates Bob Marley’s Legacy

In partnership with Paramount Pictures UK, Pop Brixton in London is set to host the One Love Yard event, a three-day immersive experience dedicated to the legendary reggae musician, Bob Marley. The event, which takes place on January 26-28, aims to celebrate Marley’s music, activism, and overall contribution to global culture.

The lineup for the event is packed with talented artists and DJs, guaranteeing a fantastic experience for attendees. Notable performers include soulful singer Noreen Stewart, rising star rapper Cristale, esteemed duo Handson Family, and reggae DJs Rebel Clash. The event will be hosted by renowned presenter and host Remel London. Reprezent Radio will be providing coverage for those who cannot attend in person.

Recognizing Bob Marley’s lyrical brilliance, the event will feature profound spoken word performances by local wordsmiths from Poetic Unity. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in special sessions to hone their own poetic skills with Adisa The Verbalizer.

Vinyl listening installations will be set up for music enthusiasts to immerse themselves in Bob Marley’s discography. These installations will cater to the preferences of both dedicated fans and casual listeners alike.

One Love Yard will offer a delectable range of Caribbean cuisine, featuring renowned chefs such as Jeff The Chef, A Trini Thing, and Jollof House Kitchen. Attendees can also enjoy specially crafted Marley-themed cocktails at the event’s bar.

As a testament to the enduring relationship between NME and Bob Marley, a special display will showcase original NME covers featuring the musician. Additionally, the display will feature captivating film photography from the forthcoming biopic, Bob Marley: One Love, which stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley.

The event will conclude with a visually stunning mural created by Brixton artist Bunny Bread of Create Not Destroy. Inspired by the new movie, the mural adds a unique and meaningful touch to the experience.
