Supercars driver Chaz Mostert showcased his skill by setting the pace during Practice 1 at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint in impressive fashion.

Racing at the renowned CARCO.com.au Raceway, Mostert behind the wheel of his Mobil 1 Ford dominated the one-hour session, posting a blistering time that left his competitors trailing behind.

Mostert’s exceptional performance early on, with a time of 55.0930s, set the bar high for the rest of the field, establishing a lead of more than half a second over his nearest rival.

The session was cut short due to a crash involving Cameron Hill and his Supaglass Chevrolet, bringing an abrupt end to the on-track action.

Championship leader Will Brown, driving the Red Bull Ampol Chevrolet, faced challenges during the session, finishing in the 18th position, while Matt Payne in the Penrite Ford also struggled, ending up in 21st place.

Notable incidents during the session included Thomas Randle’s halt at Turn 1 due to a reported gear issue and David Reynolds running off track at Turn 7, collecting a substantial amount of sand in the process.

As the session progressed, drivers pushed their limits to chase Mostert’s impressive time, with several notable changes in positions within the field.

As drivers made their final runs towards the end of the session, Jack Le Brocq, Nick Percat, and Andre Heimgartner made significant moves up the leaderboard, challenging Mostert’s dominance.

The on-track action saw Brodie Kostecki, James Courtney, and Aaron Love also making notable performances, adding further excitement to the session.

Overall, the Practice 1 session set the stage for a thrilling weekend of racing at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint, with fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming events, including the Boost Mobile Qualifying session.
