Mini Mathur Iifa Awards 2024

Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 29 (ANI): Actor Mini Mathur shared her thoughts on the success of the comedy-drama series ‘Call Me Bae’ during an interaction at the IIFA Awards 2024.

Speaking to ANI, Mathur expressed her delight with the show’s reception, saying, “I knew that people would love the show, but we had no idea that it would be such a deal breaker for everything. I think after a long time there is a show that is so uplifting and so fun and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. And we’re delighted with how the music is doing, how everything, every character has been appreciated.”

‘Call Me Bae’ is an eight-part series that follows the life of Bella Chowdhary, a.k.a Bae, played by Ananya Panday, as she transforms from an heiress to a hustler. The series is described as a light-hearted, visually captivating comedy-drama.

The show also features actors Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur. It is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serving as Executive Producers. The series, directed by Collin D’Cunha, is co-written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair.

The IIFA Awards 2024 witnessed King Khan as the host, captivating the audience alongside Karan Johar and others. The hosting duties included making a lively performance alongside co-hosts to the hit song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’.

The awards event, taking place in Abu Dhabi, commenced on September 27 with the IIFA Utsavam, celebrating Southern Indian film industries, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema.

Notably, Rekha is set to make a return to the IIFA stage, along with performances from Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and others. The event will conclude on September 29 with the exclusive, invitation-only IIFA Rocks, featuring live performances by Honey Singh, Shilpa Rao, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
