World No. 2 golfer, Rory McIlroy, commenced his journey at the 2024 Cognizant Classic with a promising performance at PGA National Resort in Florida. In his third PGA Tour appearance this season, McIlroy ignited his game on Thursday with an impressive start.

Starting on the 10th tee, the four-time major champion showcased his skills by carding five birdies and a lone bogey to conclude the opening round with a commendable four-under 67.

Transitioning to a 1st-tee start for Friday, McIlroy is set to tee off at 12:40 p.m. ET alongside defending champion Cameron Young and last week’s victor, Cameron Tringale.
