Grammy-winning musician Zac Brown, popularly known as the frontman of Zac Brown Band, has taken legal action by filing for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi.

The filing, made in Fulton County, Georgia, alleges that Kelly Yazdi, who is also a former employee of Zac Brown Band, breached a confidentiality agreement via an Instagram post that Brown believes tarnishes his public image.

In response to the court filing, Yazdi issued a statement on her social media, expressing her intention to continue freely expressing herself through art and potentially discussing the circumstances surrounding their pending divorce despite the legal proceedings initiated by Brown.

The Instagram post in question, shared by Yazdi on May 4, appeared to allude to her relationship with the Zac Brown Band frontman, although no names were directly mentioned in the lengthy caption.

Court documents filed on Friday detail that Yazdi allegedly sought retribution against Brown and were aimed at “exact[ing] revenge upon Mr. Brown.” The legal filings demand that she refrain from making any damaging statements about Brown, his family, or any member of Zac Brown Band’s family.

This legal back-and-forth between Brown and Yazdi comes after the couple confirmed their divorce in December 2023, expressing mutual respect for each other and requesting privacy during the process.
