Shawn Michaels Wwe Surgery News

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels shared on the “Nightcap” podcast that he will undergo double knee replacement surgery in the coming month. The iconic wrestler, known as the “Heartbreak Kid,” revealed the toll his long professional career has taken on his body as he prepares for this significant procedure.

Michaels, who currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative for WWE, discussed his health issues candidly. “I’ve had my back fused, I’ve had my shoulder replaced, I have two knees I’m getting replaced probably in a month,” he said. He acknowledged the physical sacrifices he’s made. “I knew that going in… I knew the price that was going to come with it,” he added.

Despite his injuries, Michaels expressed no regret about his wrestling career. “I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world,” he said. Michaels emphasized that he finds new creative fulfillment in overseeing the NXT brand, allowing him to stay connected to the wrestling world while not competing physically.

Reflecting on his legacy, Michaels stated, “When that happens and it all comes together, it’s that feeling where you watch the joy in that talent’s heart when they’re finally getting it.” He affirmed his commitment to helping the next generation of wrestlers succeed.

Michaels’ health challenges have roots dating back to his infamous back injury in 1998, which forced him into a four-year retirement. He made a celebrated return in 2002 and continued to perform until his final match at WrestleMania 26 in 2010 against The Undertaker.

As he looks forward to his surgery, Shawn Michaels remains focused on his current role and the future of WWE, proclaiming, “To help these young men and women to achieve their passions and their dreams is something that I had no idea I’d enjoy it this much.”
