Simone Biles Attends 2024 U.S. Open
Gymnast Simone Biles joined numerous A-list stars and celebrities at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Wednesday. The renowned athlete watched the final men’s and women’s quarterfinal matches, featuring American Jessica Pegula‘s victory over Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Italy’s Jannik Sinner‘s defeat of Russia’s Daniil Medvedev.
For her appearance at this final Grand Slam tournament of the year, Biles opted for a sporty yet stylish look. She wore a matching set of baggy white trousers and a scoop neck tank top, combined with an oversized sky blue button-down shirt casually worn off her shoulders with rolled-up cuffs. She completed this outfit with a pair of sneakers, giving it a sporty finish.
Regarding her accessories, Biles chose silver jewelry, notably wearing her iconic GOAT necklace by Janet Heller Fine Jewelry, adorned with 546 diamonds. Biles initially debuted this piece at the 2024 Olympics held in August. Additionally, she sported sunglasses, adding to her chic sporty appearance.
Since she gained global fame during the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Biles has expanded her brand partnerships. She became an official endorsed athlete for GK Elite in 2015, a gymnastics apparel brand that has designed several leotards for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team. Biles also partnered with Nike before becoming Athleta’s exclusive apparel partner in 2021 and has been featured prominently in Athleta’s Power of She campaign since 2023.
The 2024 U.S. Open Championships are set to continue through Sunday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York. Defending Champions Djokovic and Gauff will aim to retain their titles, with Djokovic pursuing the record for the most Grand Slam singles titles at 25. This year’s sponsors include IBM, American Express, Aperol, and Grey Goose.
During her visit, Biles expressed her admiration for tennis legend Serena Williams, stating she would love to share a tennis court with her for a doubles match. Biles was in attendance to support world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, who unfortunately lost to Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals.
As a fan, Biles noted, “My husband and I are big fans of Iga, so to come here and watch her work is such a blessing and an honor.” She was also asked which tennis player might make an excellent gymnast, to which she humorously commented on the height of tennis players, suggesting Coco Gauff as a potential candidate.
Biles expressed her joy at attending the U.S. Open, stating, ‘I’ve always wanted to go to the U.S. Open to support other athletes, and I’ve never had the opportunity.’ With some free time in her schedule, she relished the chance to support fellow athletes.
