Snoop Dogg Reaffirms His Pittsburgh Steelers Fandom During Recent Game
The Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the National Football League’s most iconic teams, boasts a fervent fan base, including notable celebrity supporter Snoop Dogg. The legendary rapper expressed his unwavering dedication to the team, despite his Southern California roots, during an appearance in a segment on the “Sunday Night Football” game held on October 6th between the Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium.
“Well, in the ‘70s, you got to understand there was only so many teams that was really dominating, and the Steelers was one of those teams that represented what I felt like,” Snoop Dogg told TODAY. “And it just felt like a team I could get behind, and I never stopped loving them.” His affection for the Steelers aligns with their reputation as a football powerhouse, sharing the record for most Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, each holding six titles.
In light of artists supporting NFL teams, Taylor Swift has also been making headlines for her appearances at various games, leading to speculation on whether she might join Snoop for a Steelers game. However, Snoop remarked, “No, that ain’t happening. When it comes to a Steelers game, it’s us or nobody. We don’t side with nobody else.”
During his visit to Acrisure Stadium, Snoop Dogg engaged with fans and visited the team store, jesting about enjoying a shopping spree on the Steelers’ tab. Additionally, he took on the honor of leading the “Terrible Towel” wave, a longstanding tradition among Steelers fans, remarking that it “symbolizes unity” and the spirit of the “Steel City.”
Despite Snoop’s enthusiasm for the game day traditions, the Steelers fell to the Cowboys, concluding the game at 20-17, resulting in both teams holding a season record of 3-2. Snoop last attended a Steelers home game in September 2009, and his continued support remains a testament to the star’s long-standing loyalty to the team.
