Texas Longhorns Football 2024

In a highly anticipated Week 4 matchup, the Texas Longhorns prepare to face the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Warhawks this Saturday at the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. While Texas enters the game with an undefeated 3-0 record, questions loom over the starting quarterback position following a recent injury to starter Quinn Ewers.

Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman and highly-touted recruit, may be making his first career start after a strong performance in relief last week. Manning, who is the grandson of Archie Manning and nephew to Peyton and Eli Manning, showcased his talent by completing 9-of-12 passes for 223 yards, scoring four touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. Head coach Steve Sarkisian might have to rely on Manning’s skills as Ewers is still recovering from an abdominal muscle injury.

The Longhorns have been reinforced by being ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Poll, marking their first top position since 2008. Despite a shifting spread that initially tipped Texas at -48 but now stands at -43.5, the team remains one of the strongest contenders, having won decisively in their previous games.

On the other side, ULM is off to a commendable 2-0 start, outperforming predictions in both matches. The Warhawks defeated Army 30-13 in their opener and followed up with another victory against UAB, 32-6, a game they entered as 12-point underdogs. Their success was a personal triumph for head coach Bryant Vincent, who faced UAB, where he was previously the interim head coach.

Chandler Rogers leads the Warhawks at quarterback, having completed 19-of-30 passes for 191 yards this season. Meanwhile, the duo of running backs Isaiah Woullard and Andrew Henry provided a robust ground attack, combining for nearly 300 yards rushing.

As both teams aim to maintain their winning records, this game will also be available for viewers on ESPN’s streaming service, SEC Network Plus. The broadcast, set to begin at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET, will not be available on traditional television, marking it an exclusive online streaming event.
