CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Joe Burrow Foundation has terminated its association with Judge Ted Berry following his controversial comments about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at a Utah Valley University event on September 10. Following the incident, Berry made several posts on social media that many considered inappropriate, including comments that criticized Kirk after his death.

“The Joe Burrow Foundation was founded on the belief that everybody has the responsibility to do good,” said a statement from the foundation. “We have terminated an advisory board member that made inappropriate remarks in light of recent events, and they are no longer associated with the Foundation.”

Berry’s posts included statements such as “Rest in Hatred & Division!” and “How’s he feel about gun violence and gun control in Hell, now?” He later claimed he meant to address the divisive nature of Kirk’s influence.

In response to the backlash, Berry expressed remorse, stating, “I do not condone any type of violence on any human being. I regret if I caused division. That was not my intent.”

Ohio State Representative Adam Mathews criticized Berry’s comments and called for his resignation, describing them as “shocking and completely unacceptable.”

Founded in 2022, the Joe Burrow Foundation aims to support underprivileged children dealing with mental health and food insecurity issues. The foundation has awarded over $2 million in grants to various organizations across several states.

The news of Berry’s removal follows a series of firings and resignations in the wake of Kirk’s murder, highlighting the polarized reactions to his death.
