Josh Allen Quarterback Injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen briefly left the game with a bloody nose after a hit during the first quarter against the New York Jets on Sunday. The injury occurred on a designed running play when New York Jets defensive end Micheal Clemons struck Allen in the face as he went down, causing blood to flow from his nose.

Allen scrambled on second-and-7 from the Bills’ 23-yard line but was stopped for no gain. After the hit, he immediately motioned for medical attention and ran to the sidelines, where trainers tended to his injury. He was seen receiving treatment for several minutes at the Gatorade table.

Mitchell Trubisky, who stepped in for Allen, made an immediate impact by completing a 32-yard pass to Joshua Palmer. Trubisky followed up with a handoff to Ty Johnson as Allen was still being examined. The Bills continued their drive while Allen received treatment.

Allen returned to the game at the start of the second quarter, his nose packed with gauze. The drive culminated in a 52-yard field goal by Matt Prater, giving the Bills a 13-0 lead. Coach Sean McDermott later confirmed Allen was dealing with a bloody nose, allowing him to continue playing without further complications.
