Henry Cavill Updates Fans on Injury and Upcoming Highlander Film

Los Angeles, CA – Henry Cavill has provided fans with an update following his recent injury while training for an upcoming project. The star known for his roles in ‘The Man of Steel‘ and ‘The Witcher‘ took to Instagram to share the news with his 28.3 million followers.
While the exact details of how Cavill injured his left foot and ankle remain uncertain, his post gave a glimpse of his recovery setup. Sitting with his leg resting next to his dog and a stack of ‘Warhammer’ books, Cavill chose to share a piece of poetry instead of discussing the injury. He quoted William Ernest Henley’s famous poem, ‘Invictus.’
As he recuperates, Cavill will be off his feet for an extended period, impacting the production schedule of ‘Highlander.’ Reports indicate that the Chad Stahelski-directed film, which was anticipated to start production soon, has been pushed back to early 2026.
Details about the reboot of the cult classic are still being revealed. In June, it was confirmed that actors Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang are attached to the project. Stahelski has hinted at incorporating elements from previous ‘Highlander’ TV shows and characters, aiming to create a prequel that sets the stage for ‘The Gathering.’
While Cavill focuses on recovery, fans can look forward to updates on ‘Highlander’ once production resumes in early 2026.
