Bears Face Cowboys in Crucial Week 3 Matchup
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicago Bears will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET in a critical Week 3 NFL matchup. The Bears are looking for their first win of the season after starting with two losses.
In their last game, the Bears suffered a heavy defeat against the Detroit Lions, losing 52-21. The Lions tallied more than 500 yards of offense, including a 24-0 scoring run after the Bears briefly closed the gap. This week, the Bears are eager to turn their fortune around against the Cowboys, who are coming off their first win of the season.
The Cowboys secured victory in Week 2 against the New York Giants, showcasing strong performances from their offensive stars. Quarterback Dak Prescott passed for 450 yards and three touchdowns in that game, while running back Ezekiel Elliott contributed significantly as well.
This will be the first meeting between Chicago and Dallas in three years, with the previous game in October 2022 ending in a 49-29 defeat for the Bears. The last time Chicago defeated the Cowboys was back in December 2019.
Bears fans are feeling pressure ahead of this game; they believe falling to 0-3 could be detrimental to the season. Linebacker Caleb Williams commented on the team’s focus, stating, “We’re trying to be 1-0 this week.”
The Bears’ secondary has faced challenges, particularly against explosive players. After an initial boost from the return of Jaylon Johnson, reports indicate he may be out for the rest of the season. Chicago’s defense ranks low in rushing yards allowed, creating concerns as they prepare to face the Cowboys’ strong offensive line.
While the Cowboys feature recent additions at running back, especially with Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, the Bears hope their defensive line can contain these threats. Coach Matt Eberflus will be counting on his squad to ensure their first victory at home this season.
As game day approaches, the excitement and anxiety amongst fans grows, with many hoping for Chicago to overcome their previous struggles and claim a much-needed win.
