Tyler, The Creator Named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year 2025
Los Angeles, CA – Tyler, The Creator was named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year for 2025 today, reflecting his significant impact on music and culture this past year. The recognition comes after he amassed over 4.5 billion minutes of listening time worldwide from November 2024 to October 2025, marking a record-breaking year.
Tyler launched 2025 with the release of his personal album, CHROMAKOPIA, which became his most successful release on Apple Music, achieving record-breaking first-day and first-week streams. While on tour, he also surprised fans by dropping a second album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, which reached No. 1 on Apple Music charts in over 55 countries.
Throughout the year, Tyler showcased his musical prowess at major festivals including Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Osheaga. He also organized the 11th edition of his own festival, Camp Flog Gnaw, in Los Angeles.
Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, praised Tyler, stating, “His creativity has been incredible all year. He inspires his peers and fans now, just as he will continue to inspire generations to come.”
Expressing gratitude, Tyler shared, “To everyone who listens to my music, thank you. This year was the biggest for my career so far. Being named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year is sick. Please keep supporting folks who are a bit out of the box for how they do things.”
In addition to his music achievements, Tyler will make his feature-film debut in the period drama Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and starring Timothée Chalamet. As the Artist of the Year, he will receive an award featuring Apple’s custom silicon wafer, symbolizing the technology behind music listening.
Tyler wraps up 2025 with five GRAMMY nominations for both CHROMAKOPIA and DON’T TAP THE GLASS, highlighting his robust contributions to the music industry this year.
