Google has officially launched the Pixel 8a in India, offering a blend of high-end features, powerful camera capabilities, and a high refresh rate display. Positioned as the most affordable phone in the Pixel 8 series launched back in October last year, the Pixel 8a comes with several enhancements and a competitive price point.
The Pixel 8a is priced starting at INR 52,999 and offers 128GB of internal storage. Alternatively, there is a 256GB storage variant available at INR 59,999. The handset is now available for pre-order on Flipkart, with the first sale scheduled to start on the morning of May 14th.
Customers can benefit from a bank offer of INR 4,000 and also opt for a no-cost EMI option with select banks. Additionally, there is a generous exchange bonus of INR 9,000 available with the purchase of the Pixel 8a.
In terms of specifications, the Pixel 8a boasts a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1400Nits HDR brightness, 2000 Nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood, the Pixel 8a is powered by the Google Tensor G3 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and a choice of 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
On the imaging front, the Pixel 8a features a dual rear camera setup with a 64MP primary camera that comes with 8x Super Res Zoom Optical and Electronic Image Stabilization. It also includes a 13MP ultra-wide camera capable of capturing 120-degree field of view.
Unique features in the Pixel 8a’s camera setup include Magic Editor, Best Take, and Audio Magic Eraser. The device also introduces an Ultra HDR mode, a feature absent in the Pixel 7a.
For power, the Pixel 8a houses a 4,492mAh battery with fast wired charging and support for Wireless Qi charging. Google claims that the phone can provide backup ranging from 24 to 72 hours on a full charge. It also includes an under-display fingerprint scanner and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
