Ireland‘s unique talent, Bambi Thug, has secured a spot in the final of the esteemed Eurovision 2024 competition with the mesmerizing song ‘Doomsday Blue’ following a remarkable performance at the first semi-finals held in Malmo, Sweden.

The Irish artist, Bambi Thug, has become the talk of the Eurovision Song Contest, marking the first time an Irish contestant has advanced to the finals since 2018. Alongside Bambi Thug, other countries including Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, and Luxembourg have also earned a spot in the grand final set to take place on Saturday night.

Bambi Thug, enchanting audiences with a dazzling lights show and a captivating costume change during their performance, left a lasting impression on viewers across Europe.

Cries of ‘Crown The Witch’ resonated as the lights dimmed on the striking Irish act, with Bambi Thug’s spellbinding performance garnering international acclaim and support.

The staging in Malmo was nothing short of spectacular as Bambi Thug embraced their mysterious persona, surrounded by a ring of lights while their male dancers embodied a devilish allure with blue paint, exaggerated ears, and fake teeth.

In a powerful moment during the performance, Bambi Thug unveiled the trans flag on their costume, adding a poignant touch before the stage was illuminated with flames, heightening the drama.

Amidst the voting interval, Eurovision legend Johnny Logan took the stage, paying homage to his fellow two-time champion by delivering an emotional rendition of Loreen‘s ‘Euphoria’. Loreen, a Eurovision victor for Sweden in 2012 and again in Liverpool, was celebrated through Logan’s heartfelt tribute.

Prior to the captivating performance, Tanaiste Micheál Martin extended his best wishes to Bambi Thug, commending the artist for representing Ireland and Cork with exceptional talent and creativity on the Eurovision stage this year.
